Why are no positions specified in the team stats (team roster) file?

Just like in real life, players in Total Football Online don't have rigid positions - they have set skills and it is up to you as manager to decide where it is best to play your chosen eleven on the field.

Can I select an injured or suspended player?

No, your team sheet will be declared void if you try to select an injured or suspended player.  It is your responsibility to check the currently injured and suspended list from the members area before you complete your team sheets if you choose to submit them manually.  Team sheets created with the TSM program and the most current roster will not have this problem, as injured & suspended players can not be selected.

How many substitutes can I select?

Of the 5 players selected as substitutes, only 3 can make an appearance in the game.

Are there are limitations to the formation I select?

Not really.  Of course, certain formations are tactically sound and have been proven over the last hundred years - the standard 4-4-2  (4 defenders, 4 midfielders and 2 forwards), the "European" 5-3-2  (5 defenders including wing backs, with 3 in midfield and 2 forward) and the attacking 4-3-3  (4 defending, 3 midfield, 3 forwards).  Choosing to adopt a 2-3-5  (2 in defence, 5 in attack) against a solid 4-4-2 will guarantee goals -- but they might not be all in your favour!

Please see the Formations & Tactics FAQ for more info.
